We are proud to provide the follow up to our first interview and second interview with “Uncle Paul” Hauke, one of the founders and driving forces for Tony Boloney’s Pizzeria on Oriental Ave., Atlantic City, NJ. ”Uncle Paul” has been involved since the beginning, back in 2008.
Atlantic City Food Guide: Thanks “Uncle Paul” for doing this third interview.
“Uncle Paul”: You are welcome. I’m very happy to be here. You know I have more great pictures of the building of Tony Boloney’s Pizzeria.
Atlantic City Food Guide: Your pictures are great. Atlantic City love you “Uncle Paul” for all the good you have done in the inlet section of the town.
“Uncle Paul”: Thanks. I have to give praise to the City of Atlantic City , the CRDA and SID for cleaning up the lot next to Tony Boloney’s Pizzeria. The neighborhood certainly needed it. Now, hopefully the landowners in the area will clean and fix up their properties. It looks like I’ve started a trend in the area.
Atlantic City Food Guide: You certainly are a trend setter. Do you think The Revel Casino was following your lead?
“Uncle Paul”: Well , we all know the Revel Casino has been an on and off project for many years even prior to 2008 and the development of Tony Boloney’s Pizzeria. The Revel stalled for a while and then thanks to Governor Chris Christie it was finally built. It was originally supposed to be two towers but was downsized to one tower because of financial concerns.
Altantic City Food Guide: Do you think that the Revel will pull Atlantic City out of the slump it’s in?
“Uncle Paul”: I don’t have a crystal ball. I wish all Casino’s well. The Revel is an outrageous resort.
Atlantic City Food Guide: Do you think Tony Boloney’s will pull Atlantic City out of the slump it’s in?
“Uncle Paul”: No I do not think so. Tony Boloney’s benefited from all the construction workers when the Revel was being built. There were thousands of workers. Now , they are all gone. Now Tony Boloney’s concentrates heavily on deliveries outside their area. The Casino guests do not frequent outside restaurants. Tony Boloney’s is a positive influence in Atlantic City and it’s marketing efforts are for the benefit of Tony Boloney’s Pizzeria with Atlantic City benefiting as well.
Atlantic City Food Guide: OK, so what pictures do you have for us to see?
“Uncle Paul”: The pictures I have are from March , 2009 and show the steady progress with the construction of Tony Boloney’s Pizzeria.
Atlantic City Food Guide: We really appreciate you sharing your great photos.
“Uncle Paul”: You are welcome.
Atlantic City Food Guide: So we can expect more photos about the developing of Tony Boloney’s Pizzeria? Perhaps, next week?
“Uncle Paul”: Absolutely. Next week will be fine.
